Pickup & QR verification

A verified handoff

Silo is pickup-only, so the handoff is the moment that matters. A single QR code keeps it fast, private, and verified for both sides.

Your QR unlocks before the window

About 30 minutes before your pickup window opens, your order screen reveals a QR code, the cook's masked address, and a way to reach them. Until then the exact address stays private.

Show, scan, eat

At pickup, open the order and show your QR. The cook scans it with the in-app scanner. A valid scan confirms it is really your order, marks it picked up, and you are done.

Why a QR

  • Confirms the right person is collecting the right order.
  • Prevents someone else from claiming your food.
  • Gives the cook a clean record that the handoff happened.
  • Triggers payout to the cook for food that was actually handed over.

If the QR will not scan

It happens. The cook can verify your order manually from their order list using your name and order number. Either way, the order is only marked picked up once the cook confirms it in the app.

Payouts follow pickup

Funds are released to the cook after a verified pickup, typically the same day. That is the whole point of scanning: the cook is paid for food that was genuinely received.

Missed your window

Message the cook through the order thread as early as possible. No-show orders are non-refundable, but many cooks will work with you if you reach out in time.
